Ahhh, The Beach!

I hope everybody is doing well and having a good week.

We spent a much needed retreat at the beach last weekend. The weather ended up perfect for a little "fun in the sun."

"Jared and the Boys" took to the sand dunes in Oklahoma on Wednesday, so Thursday I thought I'd pack up the Babies and head to Mom & Daddy's. Mom, Brandie and I, as well as our kids, left for the beach on Friday night, and Kobe and Daddy followed on Saturday afternoon. This trip just so happened to be Kaylen Rae's first trip ever to the beach. This is a significant event for the children in our family, as it is a long standing tradition. My parents actually grew up on the beach, just several miles from "The Beach Lot," as we call it. Since we still have a lot of family still there, my parents purchased water front land there a while back. It is beautiful all year round and is a nice little get away really only several hours from us here in Hutto. It is so exciting to me to see the reactions of the children when we first arrive and when we leave each time. The excitement of the weekend ahead shines on each of their faces the moment we arrive, and the tears begin when it's time to leave. It is aways interesting to hear stories from Mom & Dad, as well as Grandma and aunts and uncles, about this beach when they were kids. They all say that many changes have occured over the years, but that the beauty of this certain beach has forever remained. It makes the older generations excited to see the younger generations walking along the same beach that they once walked as children.

Here is a picture of my Mother, Grandmother, and several relatives on this exact same beach in 1951.

A FEW PICTURES FROM HOME

A little somebody got caught in the poker set. When I asked him what he was doing he said,"poper (poker)" and smiled. Who knew.....

My perfect family!

Good Night!
